Battlefield of my mind-Mediocrity

This morning I was sitting in my favorite chair drinking coffee and contemplating the complexities of life and the war that rages on battlefields in our minds.

The wind is blowing in 20-30 mph gusts outside but I’m cozy and warm sitting by the fireplace thinking:

The strong wind nature is throwing at me is not affecting me at all; because I’m protected by the walls and windows of my castle (my home).

Inside my mind comes the daily onslaught of anxiety, frustrations, anger, insecurity, jealousy, fear and pride. The crafty evil one brings them to me very subtly and gently in a very quiet mustard seed voice. 

I know that I am protected by the awesome power of God who gives me a shield (like the walls of my home shields me from the wind) from these things. Through His Word and His Grace we have the ability to fight that battle and win. We can choose courage and faith. We can choose to live an above average life if we’ll just do it.

Why stay mired down in the quicksand of mediocrity when you have available to you the Above Average Life you want?
